Jerry V. and Lois R. Larsen of Pleasant View celebrated their 50th anniversary. The occasion will be celebrated with dinner, a musical show and a gathering of family and friends in June 2013. They were married on Oct. 12, 1962, in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Logan Temple.
Born May 9, 1931, in Salt Lake City to Earl and Norene Larsen, he graduated from Weber High in 1949 and received a Bachelor of Science degree in civil engineering from Utah State University in 1962. He served four years in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War, stationed in Hawaii. He retired after 30 years with the U.S. Forest Service and was president of the North Ogden Irrigation Co. He enjoys walking and four-wheeling with his friends. Born Dec. 24, 1937, to Orlando and Sarah Rasmussen in Preston, Idaho, and raised in Mink Creek, she graduated from Preston High School in 1956, and moved to Salt Lake City, living in the Beehive House while working for the LDS Church. She worked for Dr. R.J. Nelson, Weber County Hospital and Cutter Laboratories. She retired from America First Credit Union after 11 years. She enjoys reading and spending time with her family.
Their church callings include Scout Cubmaster, stake missionary, ward clerk and executive secretary, bishopric counselor, stake high counselor, Relief Society president, and Sunday School and Primary teacher and secretary. Both are ward librarians.
Their children and spouses are Paula and Sergio Mamani, Val and Bonnie Larsen, Sally and Brian West, Gary and Angie Larsen, Clair Larsen and Steven Camby (deceased). They have 15 grandchildren.
