Jerry Williamson

Jerry D. Williamson of Sunset celebrated his 80th birthday at a family party on Oct. 12.

He was born Oct. 12, 1932 in Paris, Idaho, to William Dow Williamson and Violet Olson Williamson. He married Hannah Adams on Sept. 16, 1956.

His desire as a young man was to be a cowboy. His cowboy career was sidetracked with service in the Army and Navy for a period of time. He was employed as a salesman with General Electric and Hill Air Force Base in contracting. He received a Bachelor of Science degree in business administration from California Western University in 1976.

He served as bishop of the Sunset 1st Ward and as Sunset Stake president.

His hobbies have included golfing, fly fishing, flying small planes, and spending time with his wife and family at his summer home near Bear Lake, St. Charles, Idaho.

Their children and spouses are Jerry and Jane Williamson Jr., Robert and Phyllis Williamson, Patricia and Jerry Eves, Susan and Mark Dickson, Janet Thompson, and Wendy and Dave Perkins.

He has 26 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren.
