Boy, 4, drowns in Park City pool

PARK CITY — A 4-year-old boy who nearly drowned in a Park City pool over the weekend has died of complications from the incident.

Weston Lunsford tells the Deseret News his nephew, Miles Kelly, died Monday evening. He’d been in intensive care at Primary Children’s Medical Center.

The newspaper reports Kelly’s family was attending a reunion at the Montage Deer Valley Resort on Saturday and the boy was swimming with relatives. Family members say Kelly somehow slipped out of his flotation wings and went underwater.

Relatives and emergency responders performed CPR, and the boy’s heart eventually started beating.

But Lunsford says the boy never regained consciousness.

The uncle says Kelly was a loving big brother who liked stuffed animals and being outdoors with his parents.
