‘Get flu shots,’ health officials urge

CLEARFIELD — With winter fast approaching, Davis County Health officials are encouraging the public to get the seasonal flu vaccine, recommended for ages 6 months and older.

Since Sept. 1, the health department has been offering flu vaccines — shots or the nasal mist — at its Clearfield and Woods Cross health clinics, in addition to offering a few outreach clinics.“The important part is that they get the flu vaccine,” Davis County Health Public Information Officer Bob Ballew said. “Where you get it is up to you.”

There is no out-of-pocket cost to receive the flu vaccine for anyone with health insurance. For those without health insurance, older than age 18, the cost of the flu shot is $25; the FluMist is $28; and $38 for the high-dose Fluzone for seniors age 65 or older.
