Ski Utah is dreaming of a white Christmas. Heck, if those folks had their way, it would a white Halloween.
With snow already dusting the tip tops of the Wasatch Mountains, the group is preparing for the ski season by launching a Ski Utah magazine and sparked up website.
Ski Utah’s website has been revamped to include a new vacation planning tool with region based listings that promote access and the proximity of Utah’s 14 resorts. A section features specials on lodging, lift tickets and equipment rentals.

After all, 3,802,536 skiers can’t be wrong (that’s the number of skier visits reported in Utah during the 2011-12 season).
Purple to pink
Wildcat fans who bleed purple are being asked to wear pink.
Ogden Regional Medical Center and Utah Imaging are teaming up with Weber State to present the first “Tackle Cancer” football game, and are asking everyone to wear pink to the game to help raise awareness in our community for the battle with cancer.
The Weber State-Montana game is set for Nov. 3 at 1 p.m. at Stewart Stadium.
One last tee time
The 22nd annual Arizona-Utah Shootout is Monday and Tuesday at the Karsten Golf Course in Tempe, Ariz. Utah holds a 11-10 lead in the back and forth series.
Utah’s Steve Poulson has played in 10 Shootouts, while Todd Barker, who played in the original match 21 years ago, is returning after a nine-year absence as a senior.
Other Utahns on the team include Jon Wright, Christian Jensen, Dan Horner, Jeff Jolley, Nick Drost, Brady Stanger, Bill Probst, Annette Gaiotti, Jean Labrie and Kirk Siddens.
Utah has four rookies on this year’s team: Wright, Drost, Stanger and Labrie.
The PRCA Wilderness Circuit Finals, a longtime staple here at the Weber County Fairgrounds, will be Oct. 25-27 at the Wasatch County Rodeo Grounds in Heber City. The winners advance to the Ram National Circuit Finals. ...

Josh Jones, 17, from West Jordan just participated in the Summit SuperSeries Junior Dragster World Championships during the Summit Racing Equipment World Finals in Memphis. Jones, a regular at Rocky Mountain Raceways since he was age 8. His brothers Jake and Jared also compete, keeping mom (Jill) and dad (Tim) very busy at the track. ... The Utah High School Cycling League Championships are set for today at 10 a.m. at Soldier Hollow in Midway.
