Myrtle Todd Knight of West Warren celebrated her 90th birthday on Oct. 18. Friends and family may attend an open house in her honor from 1 to 4 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 27, at Heritage Hall, 4270 W. 1250 South (12th Street), West Weber. Myrtle has requested no gifts.
She was born on Oct. 18, 1922, in Kanesville to Joseph William Todd and Emily Isabelle Halliday. She married Alma Tracy Knight on Nov. 12, 1941, in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Salt Lake Temple. After almost 63 years of marriage, he died on Aug. 27, 2004.
She enjoys sewing, and has crocheted 107 afghans and 67 dolls. She made many hot pads for the West Warren Ward Relief Society to give as birthday presents. She has also made pairs of slippers, lap afghans and hats for many, including some for nursing homes and homeless organizations.
Her children and their spouses are Richard (deceased 2008) and Lois Knight, Norine and Steven Wayment, Stephen and Renee Knight, Connie and Earl Thedell, DeAnn and Douglas Jones, Shanna and Max Brinkerhoff, Nila Dagsen, and Lonn and Diana Knight. She has 26 grandchildren, 50 great-grandchildren and 12 great-great grandchildren. A grandson, Ryan Knight, is deceased.
Her family says they feel blessed that she has been with them for so many years.
