Sobriety checkpoint planned for Friday

SYRACUSE — The Syracuse Police Department is conducting roadside safety and sobriety checkpoint Friday.

The checkpoint is part of the department’s ongoing initiative to remove impaired drivers from the roadways, police said.

The checkpoint will begin Friday evening and last until early Saturday at 601 W. 1700 South. The site was selected because of the volume of traffic in the area.
