University of Phoenix to close 2 locations in Utah

SALT LAKE CITY — The University of Phoenix will close learning centers in Pleasant Grove and St. George as part of a nationwide cost-cutting move.

The parent company of the nation’s largest for-profit university has announced it will close 115 locations across the country because of declining revenues and enrollment.

In Utah, the University of Phoenix’s North Davis Learning Center in Clearfield, South Jordan Learning Center and Utah Campus in Salt Lake City will remain open.

In all, the university will be left with 112 locations in 36 states, the District of Columbia and Puerto Rico after the closures.
