1,400 pounds of prescription drugs collected in Bountiful

BOUNTIFUL — This city had an usually large haul of legal drugs recently.

The city’s annual hazardous waste collection day, held earlier in October, netted approximately 1,400 pounds of prescription drugs, city officials noted at a recent meeting.

Besides being able to dispose of paint and other hazardous waste items, the collection gave residents a chance to drop off old prescription drugs. The yield surprised more than a few city officials.
