Giants, Tigers keep rosters unchanged for Series; Game 1 is tonight

SAN FRANCISCO — The San Francisco Giants and Detroit Tigers are sticking with the 25-man active rosters that got them to the World Series.

Ahead of Wednesday night’s opener, the Giants said they are carrying the same 12 pitchers and 13 positions players as they had in the NL division and championship series.

Ryan Theriot and 2010 playoff star Aubrey Huff made the team over potential speedy pinch-runners Emmanuel Burriss or Justin Christian. All five starting pitchers — Matt Cain, Madison Bumgarner, Tim Lincecum, Barry Zito and Ryan Vogelsong — are also still on the roster.

Detroit has 11 pitchers and 14 position players.
