RIVERDALE -- Power has been restored to more than 1,500 customers in Riverdale after power lines were taken out in the area by broken branches and trees as a result of Thursday's freak snowstorm that dumped as much as a foot of snow in the benches.
According to Rocky Mountain Power, as many as 2,200 customers had power outages in Northern Utah as a result of the storm. The largest and longest outage was in Riverdale, where power was out for some homes as long as 12 hours after outages were reported at 4:25 a.m.
As of 9 a.m. Friday there were still about 320 customers in West Bountiful with out power, but Rocky Mountain Power officials expected the power to be resored there sometime during the day. About 1,300 homes were with out power in West Bountiful at some part of Thursday and early Friday as a result of the storm.
