RSL is No. 2 seed in West, opens playoffs at Seattle

SANDY – Real Salt Lake at last learned its playoff fate on Sunday night.

With Los Angeles’ 1-0 win over Seattle, RSL will be the No. 2 seed in the Western Conference and open the 2012 Major League Soccer Cup playoffs on the road at CenturyLink Field in Seattle.

The two-leg, aggregate goals series will begin on Friday, with the second leg set to take place at Rio Tinto Stadium on Nov. 8. Match times haven’t yet been announced, but an 8:30 p.m. kickoff for the first leg is the likely possibility.

Salt Lake posted a 1-0-2 record against Seattle this season, including a 1-0-1 mark at CenturyLink Field.
