Delta Spendlove

Delta Spendlove will celebrate her 90th birthday with her family at the Maddox Ranch House Restaurant on Oct. 27.

She was born Oct. 26, 1922, in Ogden to Albert W. and Edith Marsh Barker. She graduated from Ogden High School in 1940.

She married Arthur M. Spendlove on June 28, 1942, in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Salt Lake Temple. They were married for 56 years. He died in 1998.

She lived most of her life in Ogden. For five years, she and her husband resided in Heber City.

She has been an active member of the LDS Church throughout her life, serving in many callings. She and her husband served a mission in the Chicago LDS Temple and were ordinance workers in the Ogden LDS Temple.

She has enjoyed homemaking, sewing, cooking and canning. She has made many quilts for children and grandchildren, and has enjoyed mastering many trades. She says that she most enjoys serving others, especially her family. She remembers a birthday or special occasion with a gift or card, even to the last great-grandchild.

Her children and spouses are Dennis Spendlove (deceased), Kay and Stephen Bingham, Penny and Dan Casper, and Merrill and Annette Spendlove.

She has 21 grandchildren, 36 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
