Matheson, Love race tops $10M mark

SALT LAKE CITY — A U.S. House race in Utah has topped the $10 million mark.

Democratic Rep. Jim Matheson and Republican challenger Mia Love are vying for the seat in Utah’s newly-drawn District 4.

The Salt Lake Tribune reports Wednesday that it’s the first House race to top the $10 million mark. And more television ads are on the way.

Spending has been relatively even between the two races when outside money is combined with campaign spending. The Matheson camp and its supporters have spent $5.3 million, compared with $5.2 million for Love.

Spending by outside groups on the race has topped $6 million overall.
