BOUNTIFUL — A 6-year-old boy with autism was found at 9:14 a.m. Thursday morning in the Murray area and is now in child protective services, said Bountiful Police Lt. Gary Koehn.
Riley Martin was found with his mother Heather Lee Martin. Both were asleep in a home, Koehn.
Heather Martin picked the boy up from a Bountiful school Wednesday afternoon.
"The school did nothing wrong because she is on the list as the custodial parent, Koehn said.
However, Martin knew that the Division of Child and Family Services was doing an investigation and the boy was in protective services.
Charges against Heather Martin are pending.
