Walt and Norma DeVore of Clearfield are celebrating their 80th birthdays. Friends and family may attend an open house in their honor from 3 to 5 p.m. today, Nov. 4, at The Community Church, 200 S. 500 East, Clearfield.
She was born Oct. 21, 1932, in Marshall, Wash., to Chet and Bea Johnson. She married James Allison on Dec. 28, 1952. He died in 1985.
She worked as a waitress and at the hospital. She is an avid garage sale enthusiast.
He was born Nov. 1, 1932, in Stanley, Wis., to Ernest and Mabel DeVore. He married Shirley Ann Lokken on March 10, 1951. She died in 1988. He married Norma Allison in April 1988.
He retired from Hill Air Force Base, working from 1951 to 1975. He worked at Walt’s Gas Station in Clearfield since 1969, and still spends a lot of time there, when they’re not in Wisconsin or traveling elsewhere.
They have eight children between them.
Walt’s children and spouses are Steve and Val DeVore, Vickie and Var Calder, Kathy and Steve Brewer, and Cindy and John Percival.
Norma’s children are Barbara and Lynn Stephens, Patty and Jeff Bryant, Jim and Holly Allison, and Laura Barnes.
They have 15 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.
