Robert Barger of Ogden celebrated his 97th birthday. The event was commemorated at a family dinner held at the Kobe Restaurant.
He was born Nov. 3, 1915, in Golconda, Ill.
He served in the U.S. Air Force, retiring after 25 years of service. He then retired from Hill Air Force Base in 1974.
He married Marie Thompson on June 5, 1943, in Roswell, N.M. She died April 22, 2010.
He enjoys watching sports on television, especially Chicago teams and the Utah Jazz. He also enjoys reading and spending time with family and friends.
His daughters and their spouses are Denny and Barbara Falk, Ogden; Nancy and Joe Crosson, Roy; and Roberta Smith, Yuma, Ariz. He has six grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren with two more great-grandchildren on the way.
