Incumbents lead in Ogden School Board races

OGDEN — Incumbents held leads in contested races for two seats on the Ogden School Board.

In District 1, at 11 p.m., incumbent Don Belnap had 607 votes to challenger David Tanner’s 395 votes.

Belnap, 53, is a financial planner. He has served two terms on the school board. Tanner, 45, is a fifth-grade teacher at Roy’s North Park Elementary School.

In District 5, incumbent Shane Story was leading his challenger, J. Scott Handy. Story had 1,707 votes and Handy 1,246.

Story, 48, is an account executive for Nestles USA. He has served one four-year term on the Ogden School Board.

Handy, 62, a former Ogden School District teacher, is a marketer at Superior Roofing Inc.
