FARMINGTON -- City Councilman Nelsen Michaelson has submitted his letter of resignation, effective Nov. 30, to pursue a new job that will require him to relocate out of the community.
Michaelson, who was elected to office in November of 2011, submitted his letter of resignation on Wednesday.
"It has been my pleasure to work with each of you, the city staff and the great residents of Farmington. I have learned a tremendous amount from you that will help me throughout the remainder of my life," Michaelson said in a letter addressed to Mayor Scott Harbertson and the city council.
Michaelson, 50, served on the city's planning commission before being elected in his second bid for a council seat in 2011 along with Jim Young.
