SALT LAKE CITY — Salt Lake City police say they were looking for a Los Angeles Lakers fan who allegedly pepper-sprayed a Utah Jazz fan after his team lost.
Police Detective Josh Ashdown says two Lakers fans and two Jazz fans were trash talking during a Wednesday game at EnergySolutions Arena. Security officers eventually threw out the Laker backers when they challenged their rivals to a fight.
Ashdown says the Laker fans later spotted the Jazz fans outside the arena and the fight picked up again.
He says one of the Laker fans pulled out a pepper-spray fogger and let loose before the car he was in sped away.
The Jazz fan was treated and released at a local hospital.
The Jazz beat the Lakers 95-86.
