WEST HAVEN -- The public is invited to attend the 4 p.m. Tuesday ribbon-cutting ceremony and opening of a one-mile section of the Centennial Trail along the Weber River.
This is West Haven and Marriott-Slaterville's section of the 27-mile Centennial Trail that follows the Ogden and Weber rivers and the Bonneville Shoreline Trail connecting Ogden and Weber canyons, according to a news release.
The two cities combined resources and financing to make their section of the trail a reality.
West Haven Mayor Brian Melaney will hand the ribbon-cutting duty for his city over to Ogden resident Eddie Harbertson, who donated some of the property needed to complete the trail.
Marriott-Slaterville Mayor Keith Butler will represent his city.
Those interested in attending can park in the parking lot of the Stevens-Henager College at 1890 S. 1350 West, Ogden, and walk directly through the trail entrance to the dedication.
For more information, call the West Haven city office at 801-731-4519 or the Marriott-Slaterville city office at 801-627-1919.
