OGDEN -- The Kiwanis Club of Ogden celebrated the beginning of a new fiscal year at the 92nd Annual President's Gala in October in the Wattis-Dumke Room at Union Station.
John Brown, governor of the Utah-Idaho District of Kiwanis International and a member of Tooele Kiwanis Club, officiated in the release of outgoing officers and the installation of new officers.
Outgoing President Michael Burdett DDS was honored for two years of service as president. He was then installed as the new lieutenant gvernor of Division Three, which includes Weber and Davis counties.
The new president, Homer Purdy Jr., was sworn into office.
Other officers installed were Anthony Rodebush as vice president/president-elect; Dr. John Newton as secretary; A. George Adamson as treasurer; and Robert Hamilton and Richard Roberts as directors.
The Kiwanis Club of Ogden is in its 92nd year, having been chartered Dec. 24, 1920. Through the years, numerous community leaders and businessman have participated in the club's specific purpose, "Serving the Children of the World." The general aim of the Ogden Kiwanians is to help make the Ogden a more wonderful place to live.
The Kiwanis Club meets every Thursday at noon at Mount Ogden Grill, and visitors are welcome.
