OGDEN -- Ogden police say a man was found dead in a home Sunday morning after a shootout and standoff with officers.
The following information was released this afternoon by Danielle Croyle of the Ogden City Police Department:
On November 11, 2012 around 2:23 a.m. Weber Consolidated Dispatch received a 911 call from a female caller requesting police assistance. Ogden Police were called to a domestic violence incident in the 100 block of 4th Street.
Contact was made with the individuals inside the home. While conducting the investigation Officers were fired upon inside the home. Officers were able to return fire and tactically retreat from the home. They were able to safely remove additional occupants from inside the home.
The suspect barricaded himself and refused to come out of the home.
The Ogden-Metro SWAT team responded to assist. After SWAT negotiations ceased, entry was eventually made inside the home. The suspect was located deceased.
The investigation is ongoing. The officers involved are on paid administrative leave pending the outcome of the independent investigation conducted by the Weber County Attorney's Office.
