Barbara Adams

Barbara Annie Thorpe Adams celebrated her 80th birthday at her home with family and friends on Nov. 7.

She was born on Nov. 7, 1932, and raised in Sutton Bridge, England, to MacKenzie and Eliza Thorpe. She has two brothers and three sisters. She married Floyd Dallas Adams on Jan. 15, 1955, and started their lives together in England while he finished his military service. They moved to the United States, living in New Mexico and Ogden, finally settling in Brigham City in order to raise their children in a nice, safe place. Their vows were solemnized in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Logan Temple in 1986. He died March 4, 1989, after 34 years of marriage.

She is a member of the Brigham City LDS 28th Ward.

In her younger years, she enjoyed camping and bow hunting with her husband. She enjoys creating ceramic pieces for her family, watching the Utah Jazz and spending time with her friend Reed Darley. They take trips to Wendover and visit friends throughout the United States, England and Australia.

Her two children and their spouses are Paul and Katrina Adams, and Melissa and Robert Briggs. She has seven grandchildren and enjoys spending time with them, and spoiling them whenever she gets a chance.
