David Kent and Betty Ann Gailey of Riverdale will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary. Family and friends may attend an open house in their honor from 6 to 8 p.m. on Nov. 16 at the Riverdale LDS 4th Ward meetinghouse, 1056 W. 4400 South.
They were married on Nov. 16, 1962, in Elko, Nev. Their vows were later solemnized in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Logan Temple.
Both are Ogden High School graduates.
He served in the U.S. Army followed by an LDS mission to British Columbia. He worked for the federal government for 38 years.
She worked at McKay-Dee Hospital for 24 years.
Both have served in various positions in the LDS Church. They were service missionaries in Ogden. After retirement, they served a proselyting LDS mission in Dallas.
Their children and spouses are Elizabeth and George Larsen, Matthew Gailey, Sarah and Jeremy Tippetts, Rebecca and Melvin Holland, and Michael and Jennifer Gailey.
They have 12 grandchildren.
