celebrates

70th anniversary

Clarence A. “Butch” and Jean Evans Crater will celebrate their 70th wedding anniversary with a family luncheon.

They were married Nov. 11, 1942.

He was born on Sept. 7, 1920, in Royalton, Pa., where he also attended school. He served honorably in the Army Air Corps during World War II. He is a Master Mason, 32nd-degree Scottish Rite, and a member of the Tall Cedars of Lebanon and the Shrine.

She was born on June 7, 1924, in Columbia, Pa., attending school in various cities of Pennsylvania. Both had civilian government careers with Olmstead and Hill Air Force bases — he retiring in 1975 and she in 1980.



They enjoy reading and have traveled to all 50 states, where they collected cups. They have also been to Canada, Mexico, Australia, New Zealand and India. They build a home in Pinedale, Wyo., where they lived for a number of years.

Their two children and spouses are John and Barbara Crater, and Sarah and Bruce Schwab. They have five grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren (one deceased), and two great-great-grandchildren.
