Let's come together, solve problems as one nation

Editor,

The Standard’s Nov. 8 editorial, "A re-election, but not much more," just adds to the division of this country. The article stirred up emotion with both parties. With Republicans, it again affirmed their loss, and that the election was unfair and aids to the distaste for the Democrats. For Democrats, this editorial was more than just bias; it was untrue. We all know both sides had their fair share of attack ads and it was not one-sided, especially the view that tried to portray Chrysler as sending jobs to China.

The winning side should refrain from boasting about winning. All Americans have experience in how bad it hurts to lose. We see it every day in our lives when our kids lose their football games or dance contest or adults lose in something they have worked so hard for. It is important that no matter which party we support, that we up hold truth and honesty for our children.

Please Americans, let’s come together and solve our problems as one nation. Let’s filter through our emotions and try and find common ground.

Utah still has a bright path to the next election. Jon Huntsman would represent the country with class.
