SALT LAKE CITY — Three Utah state employees are helping New York residents recover from Hurricane Sandy.
Officials say Sheila Curtis, Mike Stever and JoAnna Larsen arrived in Albany on Sunday to help manage donations for the next two weeks.
Curtis works for the Utah Division of Emergency Management, while Stever and Larsen manage emergency preparations for the state Department of Health.
The three were chosen as part of the Emergency Management Assistance Compact, which is an agreement between states to help each other in times of crisis.
As part of the compact, Utah also sent three employees to help in the aftermath of Hurricane Irene in 2011.
