Mesquite man arrested for DUI after 4 kids injured in crash

MESQUITE, Nev. — Four small children are injured and a man has been arrested on suspicion of drunken driving after a weekend crash in Mesquite.

Police say they arrived at the scene Sunday afternoon and found two bystanders restraining a driver who had apparently tried to flee the scene. Authorities say he hit two vehicles parked along a curb.

Three children were transported to a hospital in Mesquite, while police say a fourth was airlifted to Las Vegas because of the severity of her injuries. The children range in age from 1 to 5 years old.

Police arrested 33-year-old Mesquite resident Cesar Flores-Carillo on suspicion of driving under the influence, child endangerment, child restraint, and traffic violations.
