Chamber values parental involvement in education

Editor,

The Ogden/Weber Chamber of Commerce Partners in Education Committee, along with the Ogden and Weber School Districts, would like to thank the local business community for allowing their employees to attend their children’s parent-teacher conferences last month.

We realize that this is a sacrifice for businesses to allow parents time off, but we realize the benefit of allowing employees some flex-time to participate in their children’s education.

Educational research shows the benefits of parental involvement in our local schools. We encourage everyone to continue to allow employees some flexibility in their work schedules to allow them the ability to support their children’s education and help them be successful.
