Man on motorized bike collides with deer

HONEYVILLE — A man on a motor-driven cycle was injured when he collided with a deer Tuesday in Honeyville.

The accident happened around 10:20 p.m. at 5600 North and State Road 38, said Utah Highway Patrol Trooper Colby Jensen.

Kevin Wright, 43, of Honeyville, was traveling north on S.R.38 on a device that resembles a mountain bike with a small gasoline-powered engine when he hit a deer. The cycle was equipped with a flashlight used as a headlight, said Jensen.

There was enough force from the collision that deer fur got trapped between the front tire and rim on the cycle, Jensen said. Wright sustained a shoulder injury and was taken by ambulance to Brigham City Hospital. The deer ran off and wasn’t found.

An investigation is under way and no charges were filed as of late Tuesday night.
