OGDEN -- The Weber State women's basketball team will open up its home schedule for 2012-2013 tonight when the Wildcats host Boise State.
Tipoff between the Wildcats and Broncos is set for 7 p.m. at the Dee Events Center. The Wildcats, under second-year coach Bethann Ord, are coming off an 80-55 loss at BYU in their first game of the season last Friday.
Freshman guard Regina Okoye led the Wildcats with 14 points in the game and freshman forward Kalie Matthews added 11 points.
Matthews led both teams in rebounds in the game with 12. Freshman forward Jalen Carpenter and freshman guard Desiree Ramos each had eight points.
The Wildcats outrebounded the Cougars in the game, 42-36, but Weber State will look to improve on the 27 turnovers it committed. The Cougars scored 26 points off those 27 turnovers.
Weber State shot 41.5 percent from the floor, but was just 1 of 3 from beyond the 3-point line.
Boise State started its season with an 80-63 win over Utah Valley University.
Ord brings in nine freshman into the 2012-2013 season. Carlee Lough was the only starter on Friday against BYU who was on the team last year.
The 'Cats will then travel to Stillwater, Okla., for a Sunday afternoon matchup with Oklahoma State.
