SANTAQUIN — Authorities in Utah County are investigating an attack by several dogs on a sheep herd in Santaquin that left 18 sheep dead.
The Jepperson family, which owns the herd, is estimating losses at $20,000.
Utah County Sheriff’s Sgt. Spencer Cannon told the Deseret News for a story Tuesday that deputies have located two households believed to own three of the four dogs accused of attacking the sheep. They are looking for the fourth dog and its owner.
Deana Jepperson says she and her family were heading out to check on their grazing sheep Saturday when they got a call that dogs were chasing the herd. The Utah County Sheriff’s Office had responded by the time the family arrived.
