Electoral College should vote for Romney

Editor,

Under the U.S. Constitution and Amendments, the Electoral College is next as we select our president. In the Constitutional Convention "most delegates doubted the capacity of the people to evaluate talented and capable leaders beyond the borders of their own states." Accordingly, the inspired U.S. Constitution provides an Electoral College in which a body of 538 electors (like a jury of our peers) will select our next president on December 17, 2012.

We need a grassroots effort to educate each elector on the reasons Mitt Romney should be the next president. Only 64 out of 332 Obama-leaning electors (or about one out of five) would need to be convinced that the voice of the people failed to thoroughly evaluate and consider the character and leadership capacity of Romney compared to Obama.

I ask the electors to vote for Mitt Romney, a talented and capable leader with much higher moral character. This year the Electoral College must finish the vetting process of our next president.

In my opinion, Obama fails to be a leader when asked about his role during the attack and death of four Americans on September 11, 2012. He passes on the opportunity to tell the truth of how he was a leader during this tragic event.

The outcome of the Benghazi hearings has a more-likely-than-not probability that Obama was involved in a cover-up (just one of many faults in his character). Good people need to help electors consider this and other faults in the content of Obama's character. Let them know the excellent qualities of Mitt Romney.

I know this is a long shot but we must try. For more details about the Electoral College see http://www.archives.gov/federal-register/electoral-college/electors.html.

I call on all responsible citizens to contact the electors and ask them to look beyond political party and cast their ballot in the Electoral College for the candidate with the highest moral character. I invite leaders in business and government, the press and media, and citizens generally including Mitt Romney to personally contact the electors. Use any form of contact including social media to spread the word in this effort.
