OGDEN -- Michele Spielman can't figure out what has happened to her sister Lori Dixon, of Ogden, who has been missing for more than a month.
Dixon, 49, was last seen leaving her apartment at 2:30 p.m. Oct. 15.
She lives at 525 Park Blvd., with her daughter Jae Hazen, Detective Sgt. Tim Scott has said.
Hazen, 30, has said Dixon left their apartment following a disagreement. She was wearing black dress slacks, a black blouse and pumps to go to a job interview.
Dixon never made it to the interview, and she did not return to the apartment.
Dixon left without taking clothing, money, her cellphone and cigarettes, Spielman said.
"She smokes like a house on fire," Spielman said. "She wouldn't leave her cigarettes."
In addition, Dixon hasn't contacted her mom, Kay James, of Colorado Springs, or other relatives.
"She wouldn't go this long without calling my mother," said Spielman.
Hazen and several friends searched a wooded area behind the apartment complex, and she has posted several missing-person flyers for her mother. Spielman said her dad died Sept. 18 and that, along with the disappearance of Dixon, will make the Thanksgiving holiday difficult.
"We are not looking forward to them (holidays)," she said.
The Ogden Police Department is continuing to actively look for Dixon, said Lt. Tony Fox.
"It's in the forefront of everyone's mind," he said.
Anyone who has information about Dixon's whereabouts should call Ogden police at 801-629-8221.
