George and Marion Higgs

Dr. George Owen and Marion Tullis Higgs of Ogden celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary.

They were married on Nov. 14, 1952, in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Salt Lake Temple.

He graduated from Weber High School in 1949, the University of Utah College of Pharmacy in 1956, and received a doctorate degree in pharmacology in 1967. He served in the Army Reserve for 14 years; one year was active duty during the Korean War. He served 14 years as an ordinance worker in the Ogden LDS Temple. He co-owned and operated OK Pharmacy for eight years.

She attended Ogden High School and graduated from Weber State College with a bachelor’s degree in computer science in 1988. She worked for TRW Inc. for 14 years, and received the Woman of the Year Award from Your Community Connection in 1989 for engineering and science. She served nine years as an ordinance worker in the Ogden LDS Temple. She enjoys doing genealogy research.

Their children and spouses are Jeannette and Van Campbell, Dr. Owen M. and Janice Higgs, Kathy and Jeff Carter, Jim Higgs, Rick and Anokha Higgs, Cheryl White and Michelle Higgs.

They have 21 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.
