FARMINGTON -- A 44-year-old woman accused of stabbing her boyfriend to death appeared in court.

Shannon Ryan Sander, of Bountiful, appeared before Judge David Connors in 2nd District Court on Tuesday.

She is charged with first-degree felony murder in the Feb. 21 stabbing death of Michael Richard Dunn, 52.

Another hearing has been set for Jan. 15.

Sander, who is being held in Davis County Jail without bail, pleaded not guilty to the charge in October.

Sander was arrested early in the morning Feb. 22, after police found Dunn in his apartment with a stab wound in his torso late Feb. 21.

Police also said they believe alcohol may have played a role in the daylong argument that preceded the stabbing.

While being interviewed by investigators, Sander admitted to stabbing Dunn with a kitchen knife after an argument. In the townhome, police found a knife they believe was used in the stabbing.
