HollyFrontier funds Davis teachers’ program

FARMINGTON — HollyFrontier Corp. recently funded a math-mentoring program for all first-grade teachers in Davis School District.

It also provided funding to upgrade technology in some classrooms in Farmington and West Bountiful elementaries, according to a news release.

Davis School Board recognized the Woods Cross petroleum refinery and Lynn Keddington, the plant manager, for its continuing partnership with the district.

While most of that support is monetary, it also recently helped Woods Cross High School build welding stations and donated venting hoods.

HollyFrontier employees have also agreed to volunteer as mentors in the program for two hours a week.

The company also partnered with the Career Technology Education program to purchase a 3D printer for use in computer-aided design engineering programs. The printer carries a price tag of $20,000.
