OGDEN -- Ogden City's Christmas Village will open to visitors Saturday, with the lighted displays to be open through the first weekend in January.
Saturday's festivities begin at 5:30 p.m. with the Holiday Electric Light Parade, from 22nd Street to 26th Street along Washington Boulevard. The parade ends with Santa's arrival at Christmas Village, where he will flip on the lights to the decorative houses and shops, many of which contain moving model characters. A fireworks show is planned.
Beginning Nov. 26, Santa's castle will be open to visitors
6 to 9 on weeknights and 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Saturdays, through Dec. 23. Live entertainment will be presented at the amphitheater from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Mondays through Saturdays. Hot chocolate sales will benefit the Shoes for Tots program.
Christmas Village is located at 2500 Grant Ave., in the Municipal Gardens, and will be lighted 5 p.m. to midnight, through Jan. 1.
