Peter LaMar and AnnaLee DeFries of West Haven celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary. They were married on Nov. 20, 1952, in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Salt Lake Temple. Born in Wilson to John and Jennie DeFries, he lived on the family farm all his life. He graduated from Weber High School. Retired from farming, he enjoys working in his yard. He drove a school bus for Weber School District for 41 years. He serves as chairman of the Weber Soil Conservation District. He served as president of the Utah state/Weber County young farmers, bishop of the Wilson LDS 2nd Ward, high priests group leader, ward/stake executive secretary and as a home teacher for 70 years.
Born in Plain City to Ezra Earl and Elizabeth Hadley, she graduated from Weber High School. She worked for Mountain Bell Telephone Co. and now works for Anderson Livestock Auction. She enjoyed being a mother, grandmother and homemaker. She served as president of the Weber County young homemakers, Relief Society president, on the Primary stake board and as a visiting teacher for 60 years. She belongs to Wilson Camp 55 of the Daughters of Utah Pioneers. She is involved in the George Hadley Sr. Family Organization, serving as its secretary.
Their interests include spending time with family, Utah Jazz games and making candy. They serve as service missionaries at The Joseph Smith Memorial Building and attend Wilson LDS 4th Ward.
Their children and their spouses are Diane and Jed Benson, Douglas and Annette DeFries, Richard DeFries, and Robert and Patti DeFries. They have eight grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
