Connie Rae Christensen Cannon celebrated her 80th birthday with a family dinner.
The oldest of four children, she was born on Nov. 23, 1932, to Lorin C. and Edwina May Bassett Christensen of Bear River City. She graduated from Bear River High School in 1951.
She married Murray E. Cannon in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Logan Temple on Sept. 8, 1952, residing in Clearfield for 54 years. He died on June 24, 2010. She is currently living at Chancellor Gardens in Clearfield.
She attended nursing school at Thomas D. Dee Memorial Hospital on 24th Street in Ogden. She graduated from Weber State College with an accounting degree in June 1958.
She is an active member of the LDS Church, having served in many positions, including Relief Society and Primary president. She served regularly in the LDS temple with her husband. She enjoyed cooking, sewing and spending time with her family. She also enjoyed going to silhouette shoots with her husband and to other vacation destinations.
She has four children: Clifford M. Cannon, Moab; Chris E. and Jill Cannon, St. George; John R. Cannon, Clearfield; and Mary Alice and Travis Smith, Syracuse. She has five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
