Editor, Thanksgiving weekend seemed a good time to thank all of the friends and supporters of the Weber School Foundation. Many of our friends throughout the community supported the Christmas Tree Jubilee last week, some by donating a tree or an auction item, others by attending the gala dinner, or shopping in the tree room and boutique downstairs. All were an important part of a very special week. We wrapped it up on Saturday with tree wrapping and delivery of trees throughout the community. While speaking with a good friend at the Jubilee last week, it was mentioned that the community is lucky to have the Weber School Foundation. While I appreciate the compliment, the truth is that the Weber School Foundation is lucky to have this community. This community is full of incredibly generous people. Everyone knows that giving back to the community makes one feel good, so I know that each of you must be feeling great this week. The week of generous giving, and the total dollar amount of almost $300,000 for children, was amazing. However, what is truly amazing is what will be accomplished with all that you gave. School and class grants will be awarded to enhance the education of our future generations. Educational field trips will be funded for our elementary students. Science, technology, engineering, and math projects will be funded, along with assistance for fine arts. For our children of special needs, wheelchairs, hearing aids, lifts, bicycles, tricycles, and many tools will be provided. Incredibly, two hundred children with learning and physical disabilities will receive an iPad. An iPad will not only will show families that this community cares, but it that will enhance their children’s lives. Thank you for being supporters, friends, and a community that truly cares.
