HOOPER -- A special work session and public meeting is set for 7:30 p.m. Thursday to discuss the possibility of joining with West Haven to form a joint police force.

A 6:30 p.m. work session will precede the regular council meeting. Hooper Mayor Korry Green said retired South Ogden Police Chief Val Shupe is serving as a consultant to the city and will present probable costs, services and the level of law enforcement the two cities could potentially be looking at.

The public is invited to attend both the work session and the council meeting. Public comments can be presented to the mayor and council during the regular council meeting at 7:30 p.m.

The meetings will be held in the Hooper City Building, 5580 W. 4600 South. For more information, call the city office at 801-732-1064.
