OGDEN -- As work crews continue repair work on a water pipeline through Ogden Canyon, traffic delays remain moderate.
One lane is now closed from the mouth of the canyon eastward for one mile.
Because the waterline is near or in many cases under the roadway, traffic is being impacted.
Motorists traveling through the canyon are currently seeing delays of about six minutes, according to the Utah Department of Transportation and Ogden City.
Existing traffic control will remain in place in its current configuration for approximately eight weeks, but both lanes of the canyon will open temporarily from Dec. 22 through Jan. 1 to allow safe and unimpeded holiday travel.
Drivers should expect delays similar to what they are currently experiencing for the duration of the project as the work zone moves up the canyon.
