Sundance 2013 spotlights edgy films

The 2013 Sundance Film Festival on Thursday announced some of its edgier offerings.

“I couldn’t be more pleased to announce the films selected for these sections because they illustrate the tremendous creativity and vibrancy of the independent film community,” Trevor Groth, festival director of programming, said in a news release.

Upcoming Sundance film announcements include a Monday announcement of the Premieres and Documentary Premieres program; and a Tuesday announcement of the Short Films programs.

Sundance organizers anticipate posting the full film schedule, complete with screening times and venue information, on Dec. 14. Find it at www.sundance.org/festival.

The 2013 festival is Jan. 17-27 in Park City, with satellite sites in Ogden, Salt Lake City and Sundance.
