86-year-old woman struck, killed by car

OGDEN — An 86-year-old woman was killed Saturday morning when she was struck by a car that was backing out of a driveway.

The accident happened about 10:30 a.m. in the area of 1600 East and 27th Street, said Police Lt. Troy Burnett.

A woman backing out of her driveway ran over the victim, said Burnett. The driver realized the woman had been struck and called 911.

The victim was transported to McKay-Dee Hospital, where she was pronounced dead, Burnett said.

Police are not releasing the name of the driver or victim. No citations had been issued as of Saturday afternoon, and the investigation is continuing.
