OGDEN -- The Utah Department of Transportation will close State Road 39 between mile markers 35 and 37 today.
UDOT crews and the Division of Natural Resources will conduct streambed work between 11 a.m. and 4 p.m. immediately south of the Ant Flat area on the Monte Cristo Highway.
The area where the closures will occur is south of the Ant Flat recreational vehicle parking lot.
During this work, the roadway will be closed intermittently for up to 15 minutes while crews conduct blasting operations to remove obstructions from the streambed, which threaten the stability of SR 39.
As there are no alternate routes in this area, motorists should expect short delays and plan their travel accordingly.
SR 39, the Monte Cristo Highway, remains closed for the winter between Ant Flat (Mile Marker 37) and Mile Marker 56 near Woodruff, Rich County.
