NEW YORK -- Portland Trail Blazers guard Damian Lillard was named the NBA Western Conference Rookie of the Month on Wednesday for games played in October and November.
Lillard -- a former All-American at Weber State -- led all rookies in scoring (18.4 ppg), assists (5.9 apg) and steals (1.38 spg). He is the first NBA player to score at least 20 points in each of his first three NBA games since Grant Hill in 1994. Lillard tallied a season-high 28 points on 11-of-17 shooting and added eight assists and four rebounds in a 103-95 win over the Minnesota Timberwolves on Nov. 23.
Charlotte Bobcats' Michael Kidd-Gilchrist earned the Eastern Conference Rookie of the Month nod.
