61-year-old Clearfield man charged with child sex abuse

FARMINGTON — A 61-year-old Clearfield man entered not-guilty pleas to charges of child sex abuse.

Brent E. Weyland entered the pleas to two counts of first-degree felony aggravated sexual abuse of a child and one count of second-degree felony sex abuse of a child in 2nd District Court on Thursday.

Another hearing is set for Jan. 3.

Two sisters, now ages

12 and 13, told police Weyland had sexually abused them seven years ago.

Police said Weyland was a neighbor of the girls’ family.

According to court documents, from Jan. 1, 2004, to Dec. 31, 2005, Weyland, who was baby-sitting the girls, inappropriately touched them and had the girls touch him inappropriately.
