Herbert shuffles cabinet members

SALT LAKE CITY — Gov. Gary Herbert is announcing changes in his cabinet of top state agency officials.
Department of Public Safety Commissioner Lance Davenport will retire after nearly 29 years of service June 30.
Department of Transportation Executive Director John Njord has announced plans to retire once a national search for his replacement is conducted.
Insurance Commissioner Neal Gooch also is retiring.
Herbert’s office also announced Friday that Department of Corrections Executive Director Tom Patterson will resign Jan. 4.
Corrections Deputy Director Mike Haddon will serve as acting director while a national search is conducted for the top post.
And Jon Pierpont is replacing Kristen Cox as director of the Utah Department of Workforce Services.
Cox will go on to serve as director of the Governor’s Office of Management and Budget.
